Potholes can be repaired and improved. The current state of the site (lying unused instead of being played on) will cost thousands to bring back into use, when it could have been raising money for the club now.

The site is currently nowhere near a standard required for football and even for holding fund raising activities like boot fairs (believe me, this is a line of questioning I’ve been actively pursuing). It’s full of potholes and the club would struggle to get a safety certificate to even open it up to the public.

Levelling the site is on the list of first jobs to accomplish and is in the plan. But it’s not cheap, hence being part of the fund raising objectives.

Maidstone Council did not sell London Road without a new home to go to. Without Maidstone Council, the club would not have a town centre site; a town centre site with an existing football pitch that has been allowed to become overgrown by the football club. They could have allowed reserves and youth teams to play there while slowly building a basic stadium, but chose not to. Maidstone fans deserve better than the owners they have had.
